This text speaks to the heart of the Christmas season, by comparing the secular and the sacred. The accompaniment is in a folk-style and the vocal parts are spiced with chords
containing major sevenths.
The first three stanzas are
accompanied, but the fourth stanza offers an acappella section. It ends with full accompaniment and vocal flare. It is recommended
for strong singers in grades 7 and 8 or grades 9 and 10.
