Lord Byron's
poem She Walks in Beauty has been set to a familiar
instrumental work by Johannes Brahms.
It is unclear if the beautiful romantic
melody was and adapted for voice by Brahms or by arranger, Ms.
Hokanson. In either case, finding choral music from the Romantic period that is within the
capability and ranges of early adolescents can be a challenge. This work is skillfully arranged it to
fit the four-part ranges of early adolescent singers, SACB.
The audio
presentation is sung by a boy's choir with treble, cambiata, and early
adolescent bariones.. The piano part is performed by a 9th grad student.
Music by Johannes Brahms, 1833-1897
Text: Lord Byron, 1788-1824

with Piano
