Saints Bound for Heaven
Three-Part
Four-Part
This energetic piece comes from the
Sacred Harp tradition.
As with many works of this genre, it uses a pentatonic scale. Conceived in a contrapual texture, every part is melodic in nature.
HIghly accessible to the beginning part-singer, the arrangement has an optional Part IV, allowing it to be sung in three-part (SSC, SAC, or SSA) or four-part (SSCB or SSAB).
This work will also fit an adult church choir with more women than men. Assign the women to Parts I, II, & III (SSA) and
combine the men on Part IV.
The
three-part
and four-part variable voicing charts
indicate how to perform the piece with different age groups.
