is by Dr. James McCray, previous Chair of the Department of
Music at Colorado State University, with text by Chris McCray. Because of the mixed meter, teachers might think
the piece to be too challenging for early adolescents; however,
once the students feel the permeating rhythmic pattern in the
piano part, it becomes rather natural.
The lyrics are
particularly appealing to early adolescents. There is the
promise of a new day "just around the bend, just for me." The text anticipates the excitement of their life ahead and the prospects of seeing their
dreams come true.
