Lord, You Have Been
Our Dwelling Place
(click title to view and hear online)
Wesley Snyder's original
composition is a homophonic setting of passages from a combination of
Psalms. When this four-part setting is sung by early adolescents
it is voiced SSCB and rated as medium-difficult. When sung by older
adolescents or adults it is voiced SSAB and is rated as easy. The meter
signature varies throughout depending upon the demands of the textual
emphasis of the phrase. The harmony is mostly diatonic, but some mild
dissonance is distributed throughout to provide a kinship to the 19th
century and early 20th century harmonic practices. It is suited for
church worship, as well as
festivals and contests. This is a 2nd edition which has includes a slight title and the
text edit from the 1st edition title (Lord, Thou Hast Been Our Dwelling
Place).
It has the same catalog number as the first edition.
