PERFORMANCE INSIGHTS
The Pirate Don Durk of Dowdee
This is a setting of Mildred Plew
Merryman’s 19th century poem by the same name. It is a great
novelty piece set to music by David Peninger. This unique and
crowd pleasing work requires a pianist with relatively strong musical skills. This work will take some extra effort for the singers to learn, but the result will be worth it. The descriptive lyrics
will ignite the imagination of any singer.
