I Climbed the Mountain

The lyrics to I Climbed the Mountain are particularly suitable for early adolescents because they speak of "looking for my dream."  In the piano accompaniment Kirk reinforces the "dream" context by using chords that have a slight kinship to impressionism.  The range of Part III is written so it may be sung by both cambiatas and adolescent baritones.  Optional notes are included to assist the baritones when the notes move higher in their voices.
