The tune SINE NOMINE was written specifically for Bishop How's text, For All The Saints. The English translation of the tune's title is "without name." Vaughn Willams set the work to honor the nameless saints who have died in the christian church. Some have suggested that this is the finest hymn ever written. Cooper's inimitable melody-part style writing is so accessible that almost all adolescent singers will experience musical success.
Text: William W. How (1864)
Music: R. Vaughn Williams (1906)
Arranger: Irvin Cooper
